What to Wear for Your Senior Photos
Senior year is such a special chapter — and your senior pictures should reflect your personality, style, and confidence! One of the most common questions I get as a senior photographer in Auburn and really all over is:
“What should I wear for my senior photos?”
Here’s my complete style guide to help you feel incredible on camera:
1. Choose Outfits That Reflect YOU
You want to feel amazing, comfortable, and authentic. Pick 2–3 outfits:
• Classic Look: Neutral or solid color dress/top that photographs beautifully.
• Trendy Look: Something that shows your personality (think denim jacket, fun accessories, bold color).
• School Pride: Cap and gown, letterman jacket, or favorite college T-shirt.
2. Stick to Complementary Colors
Avoid: Neon colors, loud patterns, large logos.
Go for: Earth tones, pastels, jewel tones, and classic black/white.
Pro Tip → If you’re shooting in nature (Kiesel Park, Arboretum), avoid green so you don’t blend in!
3. Add Layers and Accessories
Textures and layers add visual interest and variety to your gallery.
• Denim jackets
• Cardigans
• Statement jewelry
• Hair accessories (headbands, hats)
4. Think Head to Toe
Yes — your shoes will show! Choose shoes that complement each outfit, and make sure they’re clean and polished.
5. Hair + Makeup Tips
I always recommend light, natural makeup that enhances your features without being too heavy. Professional hair and makeup is a great option if you want to elevate your look.
